It is important to RBM Haulage that we recycle as much of the waste collected from our customers as possible, throughout South Wales and the West. We therefore use leading commercial recycling services to support us in helping customers to fulfil their legal obligations, achieve environmental best-practice and maximise the sustainability of their businesses.

Examples of materials we recycle from demolition and site clearance activities include:

• Plasterboard – needs to be separated from other construction waste so that it can be recycled into new plasterboard.
• Aggregates – concrete/broken bricks are crushed and soil separated from construction waste for processing and re-sale.
• Wood – timber is chipped and generally used to fuel specialist power stations.
• Metals – are separated magnetically and the remainder by hand then sent to specialist metal recycling facilities.
• Cabling – is separated from building waste by hand and sent to specialist companies to recover materials for recycling.
• Glass – is separated and sent to a specialist companies for recycling.
• Inert waste – recycled through washing plants producing washed aggregates for re-sale and the remaining non-hazardous inert waste goes to fully regulated and controlled local landfill sites.
